This

and this

are currently in my thoughts.

However, I'm also awaiting news of the new On One Scandium 29er...

The Lynskeys have that "broken" downtube thing going on which I'm not keen on.

Have you looked at Pipedream?

http://www.pipedreamcycles.com/ti_29er_2010.html

Met them at the Cycle Show at the NEC - nice blokes and lovely bikes.

If you're thinking rigid 29er, no-one has got close to the Jones for ride quality and capability imo.

If it's a custom you're after, lucky you to have that decision to make.. I was looking for something special a year or so ago and thought Sean at Vertigo made some of the most interesting bikes. The Jones was what I went for in the end - one test ride clinched it. There's some lovely stuff available from a lot of companies and builders but Jeff Jones has designed something that, if it suits your attitude or riding style, may be unbeatable. The more I ride it, the more impressed I am by what he's come up with.

Yeah there's something pretty about Ade's bike. It's nicely balanced. I always liked the styling of e-stay bikes.

I'm selling a lovely spangly ti front end if anyone wants to fondle a jeff frontage 🙂

I can't afford the rest of ti frame to go with it, so back to the material of the plebians (steel) for me 😥

Salsa El Mariachi titanium. £1700 for the frame, new ones come with a fits-everything 44mm head tube and the 2012 ones I *think* also are coming with BB30.

[img] [/img]

It's now got some new Crest rims on. It's had the most use of all my bikes this year.

I saw the Qoroz Mountain Won 29er at the Cycle Show last month and it was stunning in the metal.

It would be a right ol' decision between a Singular Pegasus (if I could get one) and the Qoroz.

Anyone know the price of the Charge Cooker Ti frameset????

So far here only 3 of the ti hardtails have one essential thing I'd be looking for, the XX44 / tapered headtube - top marks to Litespeed Salsa and Qoroz.

Tazzy, you not tempted by a steel diamond frame to go with that fork?

The VN Zion has a tapered headtube - seems to be a change for 2012

jameso- steel frame and ti fork would look foul unless I painted the ti, which is sheer blasphemy

may be having a full steel fat front compatable jones in the near future though funded by parting with the ti forks so will still have a bit of jeff in my life

No! Black steel frame with ti truss fork, it'd looks lovely.. black parts with silver hubs to go with it, class. There's a blue steel diamond with a ti truss on MTBR that also looks great.

But no good if you're after the fat front.

I read the Jones was only any good for riding on fireroads once.

stu, i might not as I'd hate to be an attention whore so maybe a nice safe gt or trek will stop me looking odd and standing out in a crowd.

tazz.

Whatever you get make sure it's got plenty of that expension stuff on the back and the front.
That way you'll be safe to take it up the canal with out the danger of being exposed to any kind of roughness on the ground.

There's no short stay / XX44 HT / 120-140mm fork Honza-Canfield style bike in Ti that I'm aware of, Brant are you filling that void? Someone should.

Someone should.

You're not wrong there.

The back end on this thing is a little harsh to say the least.

I'd love a Ti version of it to be available as a production frame.
