I'm considering buying an aluminium alloy frame but concerned about durability. Most of my riding is in Scotland and I'm worried about resistance to the inevitable falls and rock strikes. Anyone own an aluminium bike and regret it? I can't afford to waste money on a broken frame.

Wrap everything in carbon fibre. That should sort most problems out.

Are tin cans not made of steel? With a coating of tin.
