[Closed] Timber bell - switch won't stay in off. Any fixes?

As stated in the topic title, the switch on my Timber Bell won't stay in the off position. The moment it gets a bit bumpy, off it goes (normally at the most inopportune moments of course).

I put some orange juice in the slider to make it sticky. It helped a bit, but not a long term fix.

Any fixes you can share?

Thanks

I’ve put a blob of superglue on the slider. That’s worked, just hold it apart whilst the glue cures!

I used a cable tie wrapped around the end of the 'donger'(?) - it's a fake one off AliExpress but I've read it's a problem with the legit ones.

I had exactly this issue. The ratchety bit is on the sides of the channel that the slider goes up and down in - so I poured boiling water over the plastic section then squeezed the sides in with pliers and waited for it to cool down. First time it was a bit more secure but still not great, after the second attempt it was perfect.
I then crashed and smashed it to pieces so had to buy another one, but that was nothing to do with the repair!

HTH

As much as I love cable ties I'll try the hot water method first, then escalate to super-glue if that doesn't work!

Thanks for the suggestions.

I used a random o ring from the spares box. It's looped over the switch and bell. It gives enough tension on the swictch to hold the bell off but still operate when required. I'm sure an elastic band or similar will do the same.
