NEWS NEWS NEWS NEWS NEWS NEWS NEWS I had a meeting with the CTC in guilford today, Rob Fuller and Ian Warby. Rob is Ians boss, who has been in contact with Defence estates. It appears the main concern is making sure people who are not members are not able just to walk on to the site. ie Fence top and bottom which i am already on, any suggestions are welcome. Defence estates also wanted assurance for lease being paid for, Rob has said that the CTC will cover the £1000, he will be phoning Defence estates to inform them of this, the lease can then be drafted. There are a number of provisions that came with the change of use of land, one of which is a mitigation strategy ie a management plan for the area moving forward, i have instructed an ecologist who i am meeting at the site tomorrow. She is charging £300 (as a favor the others i spoke to were all quoting £1200) and has said we can have 6 months to pay, we have £150, we ne .....;p I am sure That between us we can drum up the money again suggestions are welcome. Once all the above has been dealt with, Access egress + car park. I have been speaking to a member of the forces about sorting access + egress, plan is to woodchip carpark. If any body has contacts that might be able to shine favorably upon us please let me know. Membership will be, as has already been discussed £68 for ctc pass £40 (or so cant remember....Pete what is it?) and day pass, we need to have 200 members to make the project viable, we had 100 before we closed i have had a number of new members send application forms since then + turned away a fair number aswell (untill we were open), + 134 of you like this, so the word needs to be spread. I n summary i think the light might be at the end of the tunnel, we need to start stoking up the fires of enthusiasm, all those who want to be involved are welcome. Once the we have a lease we can apply for grants and set up events that will earn us revenue. As i have already said we want/need people to get involved in order to make Tidworth Freeride sustainable, we mustn't forget that the people are the club (we've still ridden together whilst the hill has been closed) but we will be blessed if we can have our home turf back to develop our creativity!!!! It will be more strict with the respect of building new trails, but we have enough to be getting started,......It will be what we make it.......here endeth the lesson.

That is a lot of words. I'm local to there, but out of the country at the moment, otherwise I could help out. However, woodchipping the car park... Try Witt Tree Services based in Tilshead. I know Stu is a keen rider and might be able to help out.
