hi im starting to get into mtb'ing again and have been looking for a bike, came across a giant xtc lx for £200. im guessing its a 2006 and is pretty much stock from then but good condition. worth it?

i used to have a nrs xtc which i loved, if that is anything to go off.

Lot of variables to take into account, especially without ever having seen it, but off-hand for a complete working bike it's definitely worth looking at. That & it'll probably handle not unlike your old bike, which is a major plus point for you.

Off-hand I'd check the middle ring to see how worn the chainset is... the U between teeth become bigger with wear, to the point that you get hooks on the forward face of the teeth (well worn or nearly knackered).

Disc or v-brake, not a game changer, but if disc it's just that bit more of a bargain.
The forks probably aren't going to be the best, but then you can spend £500-600 or more on a brand new bike and the forks are still rubbish.
