Looking for a 40th birthday treat and a posh road bike is top of the list. Budget upto £2k, although the less the better.

I could probably get a planet x sportive built up for this - i fancy titanium over carbon as i don't want to replace this anytime soon and carbon jobs look dated every year when the graphics change.

Needs to be comfy too as my wrist is knackered and it's not for racing.

Any recommendations (Ti, carbon or other) gratefully recieved, cheers.

A week or so ago there was a Lynskey built 09 Cube on CRC, full Ultegra, Easton Forks... with a hefty discount to get it to £2k, not sure if they still have any though.

I like my omega(now enigma) radius very much. Waiting for the chain ferry on the way back from a mtb ride on the Purbecks the other day there were a fair few road bikes to admire. We were just saying earlier how much classier/more interesting the Merlin titanium bike with full campag record and shamals looked than the specialized roubaix.

Happy with my mtb cheers. Not spending that sort of money to then chuck it into a gorse bush and grind it to bits in the sand down here. 8)

Sabbath had a demo road silk pro for sale a week or two ago for £1600 down from £3200, if I'd had the cash I'd have had it, only ever seen one in the flesh but they're lovely.

Like the Litespeed too

aye its where they ripped the old window out and stuck a new one in (before i moved in tho ;-))

the finish on the frame is the brushed option rather than the glass bead standard one. which i think is much better.

Looks like a crossbred pinarello/wilier cento, but made of scaffold tubes. Mind you, i'd have one! 🙂

Well, admittedly it is nicer than my bike, but it does like someone's been at it with a baseball bat.
