hi guys.
bit weird this one..juicy 5,s on bike no2.
it hasn,t mooved for about 3 months
got it out this morning and gave the brakes a good old squeeze to make sure everthing was mooving freely.
brake fluid oozed out of front and back at the top of the resevoir seal.
after a few pumps it stoped.
screws are tight but as you put some pressure on you can see a small bead of fluid just rise at the seal then suck back in as you release
any sugestions...
thanks all.
rob.
dunno, but my juicy 7's have done the same thing - I haven't used that bike for a few weeks, and there were drips of fluid seeping out when I picked it up this morning
wierd is,nt it where they efected at all.
just i didn,t take the bike out.
Just moisture collected outside the diaphragm, nowt to worry about(unless the diaphragm has actually split). Before the primary seal in the master cylinder pressurises the fluid in the system, it creates pressure in the reservoir until it covers the port between the two, this will then expand the diaphragm and expel any moisture through the vent in the cap.
wow coatsey..very knowledgeable there.lol
so is displaces through the seal inbetween the top cap and the resevoir.
Yup, the cap is vented so the diaphragm can expand and contract as the fluid heats and cools, anything trapped between it and the cap dribbles out. Hope used to put little stickers on the inside of their brake boxes telling you it's normal and nothing to worry about.
typical Hope thoughtfulness, wish Avid did the same
Cheers coatesy.
got a problem---simple.just go to stw there knowlage is endless ๐
