I just switched from a Euroway to a Velocompact 2 and the rails are a little closer together. It was tight with 2 boost bikes before, now it's even tighter.

I made extra space between the bikes on the old rack by shortening the inside frame arm to move the 1st bike nearer to the back of my van. Has anyone got a trick for lengthening the reach on the longer arm in some way? There's a little thread on the rod to spare, but not a lot.

Has anyone bought a 48cm 3rd Long Arm and cut it down a little, so that the frame of the 2nd bike is further from the 1st? Obviously the wheels will still be the same distance apart.

I had a 9503 rack, had the same issue. I redrilled them so that they moved outward enough that the Maxles weren't next to the opposite bike, if you know what I mean?.

Hadnt thought about that - thanks. Dumb really, just measured and there's nearly 2cm less gap between the rails. Also dumb to not check properly first before buying...

Re-drilling not an option on the Velocompact
