I'm planning to get two roof mounted bike carriers. I've got Thule wing bars and want to stick the Thule carriers (for a variety of reasons including discount available). Does anyone have an objective comparison between the 561 and 565? The three bikes I'd like to carry all have different axles (20mm, 15mm, 15mm boost) which means price wise there is little in it (once the 561 adaptors are taken into account).
Reading around I've found suggestions that the 565 can damage axles. Has anyone had this issue? Any other reasons why one is easier/better the use than the other? What about large rear wheels, one bike is fitted with a 2.8" rear tyre does either carrier handle this better?
