[#9738539]

I'm just about to build my new Shand Stooshie, which has post disc brake mounts.

My current build uses Avid BB7 SLs calipers and 105 5800 11-speed levers, which I'm pretty happy with. However, I'm keen to upgrade to hydraulic brakes for the new bike and I'd like to use my LBS to supply / fit them.

My ideal setup would be R8020 Ultegra levers with Hope RX4 calipers. However, my LBS doesn't seem to be able to get the levers individually via Madison in the UK. I could probably get them to fit some bought from a German site, but would prefer they supply.

There are other post mount options out there... but I'm not keen on RS505 (shifting doesn't seem as nice as 105 5800 levers and I suspect the 2018+ versions will be better) and SRAM stuff would necessitate a groupset switch and new cassettes for the 2 sets of wheels I'll run on this bike.

Are there other options I've missed?

Should I just save myself load of cash (£600+) and run the BB7 SL / 5800 combo for longer?

I thought you could still get the rs685 shifters but they're sold out now. Madison do stock the 8020 shifters individually but the lh one isn't back in stock until late Jan and the Rh one mid Feb.
