...are cow bells and the like socially acceptable for making a noise when the racers pass? We're taking some kids to watch their first DH race next weekend and if they are, I'll pick something noisy up to help get them in the spirit. I used to like it the noisier the better when I used to race, but that was a long time ago. What's the consensus these days?

Acceptable? Required! The more noise the better. Just be aware that Si has banned chainsaws. Llangollen top woods will be great to watch.
