So my bottom bracket (HTII) bearings are 6mm wide not 7 like the 6805 2RS bearings and to 'top' it of the top hat doesn't want to go back in either. It certainly won't now as I broke it trying! So are there spare top hats available or bearings to fit directly onto the crank shaft? Ahhhhhhhhh......
I tried to source some new bearings for a raceface X Type BB. Bearing supplier (City seals and bearings) could supply the bearings that fitted the BB cups but could not supply new top hats. Think the top hats are available on CRC, but cost almost as much as new bearings and were out of stock.
I also tried to source the same size bearing as the 'Enduro' replacement BB bearing (does not use the top hats) for which the inner race is a smaller diameter to fit directly onto the axle. The bearing supplier could not supply these as they were not a standard size.
