Hi all

I've been surprised to find that I can't get hold of a thorn resistant tube with a schrader valve for my 29er. It seems to be the schrader valve thats the problem as I've been able to find them with prestas.

I need them for commuting - everything else doesn't work, (tried slime (useless) etc. but nothing touches the thorn resistant tubes I had on my old 26. Weight is not an issue for me.

Anyone come across them? If you have, please could you put a link on here so I can get hold of a set.

Cheers

In all seriousness have you tried tubeless..? You've said that weight is not an issue.

I normally only find the thorns when it comes to changing tyres or sealant - they just seal up as you ride along.

Hadn't really thought of tubeless. I like the tyres I'm running at the moment so if I can I'd rather get the tubes. For tubeless, wouldn't I have to buy new rims or a conversion kit? As it's my commuter, I'm trying to keep the cost down!

Remove the valve core, put some slime in.

Use the ones with Presta valves if you want to run tubes but I would strongly recommend going tubeless.
