See the link for a trip around 80's rally legend Juha Kankunen's garage, some proper group a and group b rally porn, and it doesn't look like he is afraid to use it.

RS2000 porn...
Thats is awesome..
I can remember when the local ford dealer had a brand new rs200 and they were selling it for about £20k, lusted after it for ages and used to ride down at night on my bmx and lick the windows of the showroom.
Used to travel to school on the bus passed the Reliant factory in Tamworth. Always remember lines of RS200 lined up outside....

Peugeot 205 T16 Evo 2: arguably the coolest rally car of all time.
agreed. i loved them then and i still love them now. awesome.
The pic of the Lancia he won the 1991 RAC in brings back memories. My Dad entered that year in a Fiesta XR2, the scruitineering was done in batches and we were next in line to Kankunnen. Such a nice guy, also got to chat to Max Moseley as he appeared when the top drivers went through, he wasn't so nice. 😕 Our entire budget for the rally was about the same as 1 set of Kankunnen's tyres. Finished about 10th from last but finished!!
and by the way, i was going to stop looking at the pics before we suddenly got to the ferraris!
Group B fan here 😀

"it's OK, my dad's a rally driver"
First rally I went to...So that Celica is eye candy to me.
I've got some sweet video footage needs converting to digi.
Waiting for a stage to start, 50+ strangers lining the sides, all holding snowballs behind our backs, all whistling 10 green bottles as unsuspecting spectators walked down the stage to their frosty doom. Ahh the memories
His Quattro was in a garage in Joensuu for a demo, amazing to be able to touch the thing. Rallying is so huge in Suomi, one of the main reasons is what they call every man racing. It is a kind of ralycross but in real old cars. One of the main rules is that you have to sell your car to another driver for 1500 euros if he wants it. That makes it very cheap and encourages the best driver to win. Big old volvos and all sorts thrashing around, great fun to watch.

I've been in the passenger seat next to that driver too. Shudders!
I wonder if Kankunnen has one of the Celicas that he won the WC with and then was stripped of the title when a magically size changing turbo was discovered by the FIA scruitineers. Those ingenious Japs had made an inlet assembly which reduced in diameter when it was taken apart for measuring. 😉
