Is this still happening then?
When we were chatting to some FC bods a few weeks ago they seemed to imply that the off piste trails that would be used would have some work done on them first to prepare them. Was up yesterday and no obvious work has been done to any trails, and it's still so wet up there that 250 riders (assuming they get that number, which I'm doubtful of) will properly trash it.
I'll be riding out there on Sunday anyway (just not paying £45 for the privilege!) will be interesting to see how it pans out.

No idea but the £45 entry fee put me off.

Yup, extortionate IMO. Considering SSUK is £30 including camping.
If it is going ahead, I do hope they do some work on the trails this week, or people will be pretty pissed off. And so will the locals if trails get trashed beyond repair.

there was some talk about it on another thread naming the trails that will be used and the work that's been done.

I would have been interested if
a). they'd done the publicity a lot sooner
b). the price had been a bit more reasonable

I've just been up there and there are posters up advertising it.... Really can't see them getting much of a turnout at £45 or £50 a head. Very surprised that they are allowed to use the off piste stuff when the FC has actively discouraged this in the past.....

The FC have given their tacit approval to most of the off piste stuff now, or so I have been told.

there was some talk about it on another thread naming the trails that will be used and the work that's been done.

You have a link? Tried a search for it but can't find owt.

Ah cheers. I know Del has been helping out on Thursdays with some trail maintenance.
Smelly ring I can see be sort of ok, I rode it yesterday and it's still very wet in the bottom 3rd. Teepee which I rode the top part of yesterday is a right mess in parts. That will be pretty horrible after a couple of hundred bikes. Bumwash is a weird choice as it's very narrow and slow in parts, it will also get trashed very quickly.
All 3 sections are no longer than 1/2 a mile each, so to make up the 20 mile length they've advertised there will have to be a lot of linking sections!

The tracks will be marked and ready for practice from fri so will prob be destroyed by Sunday by the sounds of it! I'm heading up sun morning and have never ridden off piste there, I've only been to haldon once about 5 years ago, 3hrs practice before it starts at midday - will this be enough time to at least have a run down each of the tracks?

Steve, it's Nige. You'll get down the tracks in 3hrs no problem. When we ride in the week we tend to be out for about 2 and a half hours. We get all the good bits in with loads of the boring bits to.

@stevede - not sure exactly what the course is, but the 3 trails (if they use the 3 that were mentioned in the other thread) that will be timed take about 2-3 mins each. I guess they'll use the blue run to link them, which is an easy, gravelled, family trail.
Unless they are doing multiple passes on the timed sections then you could get round the while lot in under an hour if you were motoring.

ajantom - cheers for that mate, happy to have a run on each beforehand, would've been happy racing blind but nice to have a look - especially if people have gone up Saturday to practice.

It's still happening £45 is alot for a mini enduro. Yup the trails will be under alot of pressure if its still wet which will be a shame.

Hi folks,
Where are these trails (teepee, smelly ring, bumwash) in relation to the FC car park and the red ridge trail etc?

If I told you I'd have to kill you 😉

Difficult to give directions really as the entrances are kind of hidden.
I think that bum wash and teepee are strava segments, and smelly ring is but under another name.

I would have done it, but for £45, no chance.
