[#2720399]

12:00 told boss I had to go home to wait for an important delivery

12:15 tea break

12:30 ate some rather nice beef and red wine ravioli with red pesto

12:45 poo

13:00 ate a cupcake

13:30 give up pressing F5 on the parcel tracking website and long onto STW, there's a helmet debate involving TJ and he's not told everyone they're in imminent danger of dying. Very disappointing.

13:45 this arrives

[img] [/img]

14:00 decicde that I need the 280bhp konversion in the midget, nothing else will do, yes I know it's only about 40bhp as standard, but I NEED that extra 240bhp to get to work and back don't I?

14:05 decide that 280bhp probably isn't sensible in a road car that makes an F1 car blush on the scales and start scouring auto trader for 1.4 rover 25's.

Built a 180bhp Spridget a while back as you know it needs 180bhp to get to work and back! To cut a long story short - modified everything else to get 180 under some sort of ok - ish control. 150 and a bit more torque (and a gentle right foot near anything slippery) seem so much better.
Our ever so slightly modded Spridge with 80bhp is lovely....

oh and what are we waiting for this afternoo?

Nice idea though, I like the blow by blow account of your afternoon.

Keep up the sharing.

Poor saga, its definitely more of a list/timetable. No bikes involved either. It wont be a best seller, thats for sure.

280bhp in a Midget! 😯

The results need to be on youtube thisisnotaspoon

Used to have a 1275 Sprite & that in standard form was more than quick enough for me for the road 😉

What engine are they using to get 280bhp btw?

Apart from the poo bit. Could do without that level of detail. I am confident that a bike is going to make an appearance at some point

(can somebody pick my littluns up from school at 3.15 please?)

In fairness, you shouldn't have expected one.

280bhp is apparently the result of getting clever with a 1.8 VVC k-series. 240bhp is supposed to be easy (emerald ECU and a fairly standard engine) 280bhp is frontlines current biggest kit, no idea what witchcraft is required, but apparently it has a dash mounted switch for selecting 'only' 150bhp and an economy option of 50bhp. Cost is £15k including the heritage shell and a donor car IIRC which isn't that bad when you consider throwing £10k at a standard restoration probably isn't that difficult.

Bike content (when it arrives)

First question:
Stock Sektors
Z1 RC2's from the spares box

In light of recent enormo-threads, this build will be a real disappointment if no actual spoons are [s]bodged on with glue[/s] involved.

TINAS, are you actually buiding a bike, or just taking it out the box, putting the wheels, pedals and handlebar on and removing the reflectors? 😉

There will be soon, hes going to the knackers yard to find 280 broken horses. These will be converted into a midget, dunno whos doing that bit though. Probably easier to build a bike.

On a K series... 😕

You know that'll get you to work and back once don't you! I'd either be looking at different engines (Toyota 4AGE for example) or forced induction, or both... An N/A K series pushing out anything like even 200bhp is gonna be way too revvy for its own good, and unreliable. The Toyota 4AGE for instance was built to rev to oblivion, standard engine internals will take 10krpm!

If you do still insist on a K series, then look up info on the old Turbo Technics Elise that they used to Hillclimb. Full Carbon body (instead of fibreglass), 500kg all up weight, and a turbocharged 1400 (to fit into the up to 2 litre class) K series engine pushing out 300bhp or so. It was more than a little bit rapid!

Now hurry up with the bike...
