Today i rode 25ish miles off road in 3.5hrs - drinking about 2.5L whilst riding. Before the ride this morning i had a pint of water, pint of tea, and a cup of coffee. No booze last night just water - about 2L.

Tonight i am still super thirsty and have dry eyes/sticky contact lenses!!

What am i doing wrong?

The pint of tea won't have helped. While I love tea it makes me pee loads as it's a diuretic - the more you pee, the more fluid you're losing. Try and avoid tea before the ride? Especially a pint! This may help, dunno.

A pint of tea would get me pissing for Britain, did you have wet shorts when you finished your ride ๐Ÿ˜›

As above, lose the caffeine and all should be well.

The diuretic effects of tea and coffee have been shown to be minimal to non-existent. In addition, caffeine is an aid to efficient exercise.

I always assumed tea was as well GeeWavertree but it does get me peeing like mad so - in my experience - any fluid gained is offset by the amount that comes back out!

Interestingly (or not dependent on POV) it makes me thirstier feeling.

I do struggle with salt things though -

seems to come out of me FAST.

In terms of thirst and back on topic, like i said, try without the tea and coffee. It makes me pee like a horse and then very thirsty. Each individual may experience different things though so experiment.

What druidh said. I survive most of the week drinking only tea and coffee. Ran 10 miles this morning after, 2 cups of tea and 2 cups off coffee and didn't dehydrate at all.

Too much salt in your diet.

Never add salt to food when cooking or eating so no on that score. Last night was fish curry with LOTS of water as it was VERY hot!!
