[Closed] Thinking about the purchase of a 26 inch hardtail race frame.??

[#4678381]

Soo, the four inch full sus frame on my trusty 26 is getting a bit tired. I have a 29er full sus as my main race bike, so thinking about getting a nice light hard-tail frame to swap over and replace the 4 inch frame. Just to mix it up a bit and use for muddy races maybe!

Any recommendations please? Don't wanna go bananas on this so no suggestions over a grand please. Thanks.

Doing the same for 2013. No need to go mad, thinking XTC frame only, Kinesis or Scandal.
Mildly tempted by a steel frame, but no point in hauling any more ounces than necessary for short XC races

i'm building my old ali rocklobster frame back up for some events! very light and classic xc geometry.

bet you'd find a gem for a bargin if ya look around, if its not 29" and full carbon it wont cut it as a race bike (apparently) 🙄

Whippet, or another 29er. I'd not buy a 26" hardtail any more.

Took a peek, tempted by the price and 853 badge. Had a look at the reviews and they all go on about how it's not the same as the Sirrius? and that it weighs a ton and nothing about how it rides.
