had it done a couple of years ago, took bout ten minutes, scar was bout 2mm long in the middle of sack but has now faded. was uncomfortable for about 24hrs but not unbearable, felt a bit like when one of yer kids jumps on your lap and accidently wacks your crown jewels. Best thing was/ tactic is, too tell yer mrs your doing it for her that way she'll wait on you hand and foot for 24hrs after like mine did. Good girl.

was a bit worried when he got the huge lump hammer out of the draw tho.

Quote from the nurse a week after i had mine done and infection had caused swelling a la buster gonads from "viz"

"Oh dear - it's not meant to look like that" ๐Ÿ˜ณ

Not what you want to hear.

You have to constantly - ahem - clear out your tubes in the following weeks to make sure the little blighters are gone. Then they check your count after a few months to check you have been fully demasculinised...

The anaesthetic jab in the nutsack is the worst bit though.

Really selling it amn't I?

No it's not.

As per the other thread, if you have a shred of self respect, having your nuts pulled through a hole in a sheet and then painted with antiseptic is toe curlingly embarassing. After that, they could do anything, I wouldn't have cared as long as it was fast and I could get out of there quickly without making eye contact with anyone again.

When I went to get mine done at the local health centre - a mates wife was the nurse assisting ๐Ÿ˜ณ

No problem at all with the op, no shaving, didn't notice the jab & I was back running in 3 days
I was told to just make sure they were well supported for a while

It's about a week in most peoples experience. Goes from the "Cycling the next day" in SFB's experience, to the "It all went horribly wrong and I was back in A&E before you could say, Is it supposed to be that size?"

Be sensible, my Doc said if you can jump up and down on the spot without anything hurting, you're probably good to go...

dear god. And I thought women had it bad in childbirth, having various people standing around between their legs poking prodding sink-plungering and slicing. But no, having your nuts painted with antiseptic must be as bad as it gets for anyone. I'll tell the mrs to HTFU.

just get it done you big girl. The worst bit is the itchiness from yer pubes growing back after they've been shaved ๐Ÿ˜ณ

You'll be back in the saddle in less than two weeks ๐Ÿ˜‰

See my comments on that other thread - the smell of burning and insufficient anaesthetic are my main memories. No real pain after the first day, but the wound wouldn't heal properly.

I know people who have been macho and ignored medical advice/common sense. Take it easy and be cautious - if it goes wrong, it can go BADLY wrong. You really don't want to spend 3 months unable to wear anything but long baggy t-shirts like one colleague.

And be careful shaving - one guy I know had to go the hospital a day early having made the incision for them following a slip with a beard trimmer......

My operation was a teaching session, I was asked whether I minded, but the sight of 10-15 reasonably young, and some quite attractive students all staring quite intently at my nuts, was, with hindsight, not my finest moment.

Had mine done at my local doctors surgery, my GP was a surgen. No pain during the op and a little discomfort for about a week after. As long as getting your tackle out for various people doesn't bother you its no big deal.

You need to be sure its really what you want as it is a bigger job to reverse it.

I seem to remember some mad doctor a few years ago did his own vasectomy as he didn't trust anyone else to do it for him - maybe we should heed that view....

2 days feeling very uncomfortable - but not 'absolute' pain, but in my case several months before no discomfort at all.

I know the doctors say the 'sexual sensation' afterwards is the same - but I disagree.

Speaking from experience I wouldn't recommend walking back from the doctor's surgery straight after.

Mate of mine who has a very low threshold to pain had it done and went climbing as normal the next day. Get it done, boxelder and quit worrying! Good luck too!

The jag in the sac hurts, not as much as when the surgeon gets the sac opened and gives the tube a good yank (remember the anesthetic is only LOCAL)!!!!

It was at this time in my life that I realized (31 years of age) that your spunk tubes are indeed connected to the back of your throat! Bloody sore, thankfully only for a few long seconds!

I was sitting at my desk 20 mins after walking out of hospital, I got really sore about 3 days letter and was all the colours of the rainbow, the best thing to do is get the right amount of support (wear the wifes knickers, or even better someone elses wifes) and plenty of painkillers.

After the chug in a glass tests you will become a love God and will be going like a sewing machine, well worth it, all IMHO of course!

Should STW have a "snip" sticky? Seems to pop up fairly regularly every few weeks.
