My 88 year old grandfather, who has had 2 new hips, 1 new knee, a bowel tumour and subsequent, rather cumbersome, colostomy bag fitted decided his bike wasn't quite stable enough for his excursions. He's always been a keen carpenter as well as a retired builder and house designer he came up with this little beauty!
He couldn't find any small tyred wheels so a couple of ply wood discs with rope nailed to them did the job admirably.
Email in profile for any distributors wanting to contact me ๐
He must have one huge colostomy bag judging by the size of the table he built for it at the back there!
Excellent!
What rope for mud?
rock on!
Looks like oak, too - I'm impressed!
Where there's a will, there's a way. ๐
That's ace.
My old man, who showed me the pic, and myself are now literally crying with laughter at Roter Stern!! Brilliant
don simonWhere there's a will, there's a way.
And I hope he leaves you more than that bike in it ๐
That's amazing, looks like he could reach a few lazy buggers a thing or two.
Cool 8)
what.... no one's mentioned anything about paving/garden/wall. Are we going soft because of age?? ๐
Respect!
Just brilliant. When you get to that age and you're still riding a bike, who gives a rats ass what anyone else thinks!? ๐
I know people in their 30s who are too out of shape (i.e. Obese) to ride a bike.
Nuff respect to the old dude! ๐
Deep respect, for your grandfathers will to push on, i hope i have the same will at his age! ๐
nice, does it pivot for when leaning into corners?
Is that a 'go faster stripe' on the saddle? ๐
Clearly a carpenter not a gardener and do the rope ends line up with the wood grain?
Top job though
tagged that for you ๐
