Perfect evening blast around Comrie. Nice to see summer back, not that I envy the conditions those down South have been enduring.

Not photos, but I took my new toy (DJI Neo) out for a play last night and captured a couple of videos

Quite pleased with the quality, but it's not very good at object avoidance and struggled to keep up over 10mph.

I've found the same with the Neo (make sure you've got the latest update, it does make a bit of a difference) but I knew about the limitations when I bought it. I have a few ideas for cool shots beyond just 'follow', just need time to go out and play.

Local woods for me last night - sessioned a shonky jump and got drifty on some loose corners. Fun stuff.

Yes, I'd watched DC Rainmaker's reviews, so I wasn't expecting perfection, but thought it might be able to keep up a little better than it managed.  It was a bit breezy down by the water, so it might fare better on a still day.

The app hasn't prompted me to update firmware, so I'm assuming it's already got the latest.

Worth a manual check but you should be grand I think.

It's surprising how much difference wind can make. 10mph headwind might not feel like much but it slows it down noticeably.

Thought sneaking out @7.30 would be early enough, but already air fryer hot on the ridge, and diverted to Stanmer for some circuits in the cool dappled shade. Picked up a couple of shots reminiscent of the mint sauce/mason evening back in Feb 20260709_095542.jpg20260709_093136.jpg20260709_095443.jpg 20260709_095542.jpg20260709_093136.jpg20260709_095443.jpg

It's 9pm and still roasting hot, well for Stirlingshire it is. Just a quick local loop around Chacefield Woods and then home for some much needed rehydration with essential botanicals added. My legs are actually dusty. This is awesome.

^I'm intending a three day trip from Skipton to Penrith next week, taking a slightly different route to your first day.

Where are you staying? I can recommend the Wheatsheaf in Ingleton (bikes stored in a locked room; good beers (if that’s your thing), good food and proper beer garden)

We have arrived in Canazei, or thought we had. 6 hour drive from Croatia through Slovenia

You cant prebook the site and most other places to park up were full.

Ended up in the next village down on a far better site and just a short pootle on the cycle path back to the main area

Day 2 of my trip: a long and hot one from Ingleton to Appleby.

Twistleton Scar:

Then across Scales Moor towards Winterscales. Nice shade for a break under the railway:

Ingleborough and the Settle-Carlisle on the Dales High Way:

One of my favourite views, from the Great Wold looking down Dentdale:

Lunch and a chance too cool off and restock liquids in Sedbergh:

After lunch, over the Howgills. Calders, with Wild Boar Fell in the background:

The Calf trig point:

Then down Bowderdale - great at the top but challenging further down as the breeze that had accompanied the ascent to the Calf was missing. Finally over Great Asby Scar and a blast on the road to Appleby.

Tonic's good for staving off cramp, I'm told. Clever.

Bit too warm, but pleasant ride last night, and found this interesting tree

Not sure if it's still midweek, or weekend already, but...had to take the car for a service, so popped the Brompton in the boot, and met a mate for a seafront coffee, and now on the train home ...

Edit: can't insert boring pic of Brompton on station platform, your loss I'm afraid ,😉
