Just rode the Howgills for the first time. Tough first climb, but wow was it worth it. Such a long techie singletrack descent was an absolute joy. Dodgy bit in the middle through to ravenstonedale, but then more brilliant track after the road climb.
One of my favourite ever rides despite the initial bike carry, which I normally despise. Glad we caught it in perfect conditions.
Love the Howgills. I got sorted into Slytherin though, so it didn't end well
I did it on a cold, wet windy autumn day. Almost got blown over at the top of the big climb. Really enjoyed it apart from
the utter quagmire at the far end. I'd love to repeat it in dry conditions.

Vicky - I wouldn't like to do it in the wet, it was tough enough in near perfect conditions! Fair play to you.
