Need some work on the bike and want a right job.......
I'm not bothered about this thread diss'ing or complaining about shops...good experiences only are fine.

JD Cycles in Ilkley has a fab workshop and very good mechanics. They built my Yeti for me, I trusted them to get it right rather than use the shop I got my frame from (not because I didn't trust them its just I trust JD's more).

I've only bought bikes from them but Blazing Saddles in Hebden Bridge were so lovely we bothered to traipse to them from East Lancs. Sorry I can't be more help, but the workshop was booked until end of May a week ago, so I guess that's a good sign, right? Someone else will be along with more info I'm sure.

+1 for Blazing Saddles, for the same reasons as LouLouK seeing as I'm her other half and all. (-:

My mate is a mechanic at blazing saddles and I have always known him as being very good at it.

Nice shop.

+1 JD's.
A proper bike shop in every way. If there is something I can't do I'd drive past the others in Leeds en route to Ilkley. Good workshop, good staff and very fair prices. You never come out feeling ripped off.

+2 Blazing Saddles.
All work done has been perfect, staff are friendly and helpful.

If you fancy going further afield, Cooksons in Whitefield (Bury) are superb. Service like it should be.

I feel an anecdote coming on.

We bought two bikes from Blazing Saddles last month, in preparation for a biking holiday (after our bikes were stolen over Easter.) Come the day we were driving up, OH had her bike but mine hadn't arrived.

Blazing Saddles sorted me out with a loaner, free gratis and for nothing. I was expecting some Tesco Value job, but they gave me a Marin Attack Trail 6.8 worth about what we'd paid for both bikes put together.

Which was nice.
