Hello All - Three of us are planning to cycle the Badger divide from Glasgow to Inverness first week of September. We were thinking of leaving central Glasgow Friday 1pm and trying to get to Inverness Sunday night. Reading a few blogs this would mean covering 80 miles a day on hilly gravel tracks. I would be on a Giant Anthem 29er (full susspension).
Any recommendations ? Is 2 1/2 days a bit tough ?

I'm thinking about this in late June going the other way. I was worried about 40 miles a day...
How many times have you done similar back to back days?

Shame to rush it. Going the other way, Inverness to Blackburn of Corrieyerack was a good long day, lightly packed on gravel bike. Weather stopped me pressing on over the pass that evening (last Sept). Faster than 3 days is pushing it imho esp on an mtb.
I have looked at inverness down before as well
I know inverness to fort augustus really well, its very lumpy in places but fast, i did this then down to fort bill (the great glen way) in 7 hours, so you should easily do south of loch laggan in one full day.
I also know some of the stuff round callander and lochearnhesd, again lumpy but fast.
I reckon doable but 3 really hard days on the bike, 4 would be realistic, 5 a skoosh/sightseeing trip 🙂
I know some guys who just did the west highland way in one day, I think you'll be fine on that with 2.5 days 😀 Just get up early and take your time.

I'd agree with Brickman, use the whole day, start early and take it all in, no point in getting finished at 4 or 5pm anyway.
