Otherwise...any personal recommendations for bike rental and tour/guide companies in Tenerife?
Staying in the very south of the island and looking to do a few days on and off road riding.

Freemotion is the big bike hire place over there, there will probably be one close enough to wherever you are.
I can’t help with mtb, but you really don’t need a guide for road riding, there are not too many road choices. Freemotion will be able to help, or I am happy to give you a few possible options.

Lavatrax was great when I went a few years ago, sure they still are but IIRC Darran is less involved with everything now?
We've done a week road riding with Tenerife Bike Training on their classic tour, Alberto and Marcos Delgado - highly recommended and I'd love to go back. I've also done a guided day trip from Mt. Teide down with Darran at Lavatrax which was excellent.

Adrenalin uplift are the best for Tenerife but i'm not sure if their guides are out there again because of Covid - they werent in December when I was there.
I spoke to Lavatrax when I was out but the groups they had the week I was out didn't really suit so I didn't bother going out with them.
Darren will do bespoke guiding too if you're going off-peak. Mrs Sandwich had a great time on the lower slopes of Teide until she fell off! He's also a fount of knowledge on café and Tapas places.
