So works cycle scheme about to be released, via Halfords bike scheme. I already have a couple of nice mtbs but quite tempted with prospect of a road bike...
Ribble have confirmed that they take Halfords so I have around £1000 to play with.
Ribble Endurance with 105 group set looks plausible. Any thoughts? Normal riding (on the mtb) is pretty 'climby' living here in the Malverns.
Any thing else I could be looking at at this price point?
I got a Ribble on cycle to work a few years ago and would do so again. Had one warranty issue and it got sorted promptly and easily. Only bad bit was the fella when I picked it up sneering at me when he saw the bright green handle bar tape I'd spec'd (bike was red, white and black to be fair).
Thanks Tubs, which model did you go for ?
I've been to the ribble show room and am going to be buying a CX bike in the near future.
Bikes look good. They are good value too. I'd have no concerns over buying one.
Not sure about the halfords scheme. Boardman still look good, canyon, rose, vitus all have good value ranges.
I have a Ribble that I use as a turbo/winter bike and for the money (although mine was secondhand off here) it is a very nice ride. Mine is red/white/black too (like Tubs') and is a reasonably elderly "Sportive Racing" but it's just possible they made other bikes with these colours 🙂
Ask lots of questions re sizing - used to come up a bit large when I had them about 10 years ago.
Great value bikes.
