As a one off for a week I'm going to have to put the bike rack (Saris Bones 3) on the OH's car.
Any tips for preventing rub and scratches? I'd thought maybe some vinyl or similar?
I have some bits of helitape but will it pull the paint off?

Smear the area with a little Vaseline before applying some protective tape.

I used to use bits of old inner tube (remember those? 😉) Under the hooks.
Always seemed to work OK for me.
