The HA looks way too steep but if a 2º slackset could be fashioned for one, it looks great on paper.
Doing some research it looks like loads of people on here are selling theirs.
What's the deal?
I have one I run 150mm forks to be honest I have no issue with the head angle
It's not a plush bike I thought about selling mine then it seemed to click you need to push the bike to get the most out of it.
It's a bit of a under rated bike in my opinion.
But not in vouge ?
I have the FTMc, and it isn't that steep. I agree, it isn't an armchair ride, but it gives up travel as needed, and is VERY light!! It definitely won't work with offset bushes, and there was a thread on here recently about possible slack sets.
Hmmmm, if I was ever tempted back to FS it does sound good as I really do NOT want a comfy arm-chair.
Mines a carbon as well.
Where was the thread?
It seems that the Alu Framed FTM will take a Works Components slackset designed for the c456. The Carbon FTM will be very difficult as it's an integrated HS. Any offset gubbins would rotate in the cups.
I think the thread was about 6 months ago. There were a few FTMc threads at the time, and a few people were talking to works about doing a slackset. Personally I think is works well as is for a do it all. I have a slackened 160 Marz Heckler for specific Alps duties.
I had the carbon one and it was a superb bike. Don't know why people are saying it isn't plush.....was more plush than the Trek Fuel Ex I had. But it did also pedal very well and I thought the Monarch RT3 shock was way better than Fox RP....
I only sold up because I wanted a carbon Zesty, having had the alu version.
Very light for the travel, but as has been noted, there's virtually no chance of fitting a slackset on the carbon one because the headset cups are machined in the frame. I didn't think it was needed but I'm not totally sold on the current fashion that slacker is better.
I agree its not needed slack enough for me.
I don't agree on the plush side though, I like that about it though. Your meant to pedal it.
