Phew! What a day. Gutted for Bradley - and he'd done so much prep before this tour (couldn't believe he'd lost even more weight!). Pretty bad for young Geraint as well - dropped well down in the rankings now. Impressive display from
the HTC boys - formulaic but so effective! Cav's comments about his team and his reaction to first hearing the news about Wiggins were spot on.

Been pretty eventful so far, can't believe we're only at Stage 7.

(.... wanders off to fettle road bike before long ride through the mountains over Pen y Pass tomorrow - living out my TdF fantasies ๐Ÿ™‚ )

He's on the highlights now being interviewed looked like he was on some strong painkillers. Seemed very cheerful considering.

Cavs in a different league altogether this tour, I was really impressed with his last stage win, taking the classics specialists at the last minute when he looked like he was out of it, all on his own in the last 1km as well.....

Gutted for Wiggo, not sure how he was going to go but the Dauphine win was a good indicator of form.

Edit - I think someone has hacked Elfin's account ๐Ÿ˜•

Why do you think that?

Elfin - I think he'd gone down to only 69kg. Actually, in which case, what a porker in comparison - I am a mere 45kg!

*sigh* Ok, I accept that he is a towering 6'2 of sinewy muscle, and I a titchy 5' of insufficient fitness (and fueled by wine, cheese and crackers - diet of champions)

wiggo to win the vuelta? certainly a more achievable objective and would be good to use his current form.

Yeah, alright cleverclogs; what does the banner above say? Hmm?

Would that be 'Singletrack MOUNTAIN BIKE magazine? Would it? Hmm?

I think it would be, don't you?

But Sue; you look a lot healthier, I must say.

Geoff Thomas. A proper hard man.

Chain in the little ring, what looks like triathlon shoes, and stem not slammed?

Hmmm.

Elf, this is a forum (bike forum) on the in-ter-net, a MAGAZINE is made of paper and you it isn't interactive like these threads are ( trying to make it simple for you, apologies to the more intelligent)

Sorry for being too clever for you "Hmm?"

Has this years race been worse than others for crashes/injuries so far?
The last 3 days have been absolute carnage.

ianv, last years was worse tbh. its always like this in the first week, 200 riders trying to stay at the front on fast stages is always going to lead to crashes
