Could be unrelated, but that road's been resurfaced recently (tar then fine chippings on top), when I was up there the chippings had heaped up on the edges & middle of the road.

Voeckler went into a car (the car Geraint went past on the right). It was the same corner - I recognized the quad. Others went down as well, Andreas Kloden among them. Think there might've been something on the second corner too. Looks like most people have got back up.

Awww I wanna ride up a big **** off mountain on a road bike, admittedly I'm never gonna shell out a load of cash and trade in a shit load of brownie points to do it, that would insane (cash and BPs are to be exchanged for mountain biking) but i still want to.

So can someone give me a run down, only just tuned in and no sound on here

Looks like Hoogerland will be caught soon, and Chavanel will catch up with the main break, which has Geraint back in it.

Why would Hoogerland even try and break the pack only for him to be caught....and passed like he has been. Seems strange to put the effort in only to go backwards at the alarming rate he has done.

He's in the yellow jersey bunch, just a bit behind Frank.

It's sad to not see Wiggins in the peloton on this stage.

Tony Martin dropped??

Jens Voigt counted to infinity - twice.

Waldo can’t be found because Jens dropped him on a hill training ride… on K2.

Jens Voigt climbs so well for a big guy because he doesn’t actually climb hills; the hills slink into the earth in fear as they see him approach.

Eddy Merckx was actually a neo-pro at the same time as Jens, but Jens dropped him so hard that he shot backwards in time to the 1960’s, where he became a great champion.

Jens once had a heart attack on the Tourmalet. Jens counterattacked repeatedly until he kicked its ***.

Jens Voigt believes it’s not butter.

😀

I'm wondering if G can hold on for what would probably rank among the top 10 solo wins of the Tour...

Jens Voigt has twice won Liège–Bastogne–Liège–Bastogne–Liège–Bastogne–Liège–Bastogne–Liège–Bastogne–Liège.

hoogerland was doing it for the exposure - he probably wont finish the event imo - so he is just marketing him self.

I'd rather ride up these mountains rather than down on a road bike.

Club chairman came off at near 50mph on a ride in spain on a descent. It was quicker to list the bones he didn't break. What speed do these guys hit? Never got above 50mph myself but I suspect 60+mph?

+1

I love riding up mountains on a road bike. And I love riding down them on a mountain bike. Not vice versa. (Except for tricky single track climbs on the mtb, of course..).
