If there is anyone out there who thinks they have a particularly tall bike, either because you have really long legs so you run the saddle right up, or you happen to like ape-hanger bars, could I ask you to take a measurement from floor to the tallest point (doesn't have to be uber accurate)? This is for a design project.
The tandem is pretty high for ground clearance. 111cm high at the captains seat and 113 cm high at the bars ( unladen) I am only 5'10". for comparison my solo is 98 cm at the seat
much obliged TJ.
Any more lanky folk out there?
115cm from floor to top of saddle....
my ventana is probably the tallest bike you may see on the trails.
it is literaly as tall as a 6 bar gate.
deejay of this parish as a photo theprove this.
it is huuuuge...
114cm on my full bouncer which is a 21" frame and I'm 6'5" with a 34" inside leg. Does that help?
Jesus TJ how do you get off the tandem, parachute 😕

and notice my tyres are 6 inch lower than the bottom bar on the gate...
Big Si - its a bit of a clamber. I have no chance of reaching the ground from the saddle - my poor little short legs end about 4" above the ground 🙂
BB is 16.5" high
My 5 Spot & Chameleon are both 112cm to the top surface of the saddle, the captain's saddle on our tandem is 121cm !!! it sits VERY high unladen !!
Tandemonium 😯
Cheers guys,
RocketDog, do you think I could pass those homebrew bikes as "foreseeable miss-use" under the General Products Safety Regulations 2005 that my temporary bike parking projects needs to meet?!?
117cm to top of the saddle on my 23" Spesh 29er. They don't come much bigger to be fair. 🙂
6'7" with around 38"-39" inside leg
Snap Mr Tall, 117cm on my 22" full sus without the suspension compressed and 112cm on my 21" hardtail. I'm 6'6 with around a 38" inside leg.
