So i have the road bike, i have the pannier, but have a SHIT pannier rack!
It weighs a ton (think its steel) - what is a good, lightweight rack to look at?

Not really mate. It's aluminium and I've had my 11 yr old riding on it

Tubus racks are welded cro moly. They are bomb proof and the first choice for expedition touring. They are expensive but often crop up on eBay and the CTC classifieds, thats where I've mostly found mine. Three pairs and counting ๐Ÿ˜ฏ

Tortec Velocity are good for a road bike as long as you don't want to run a top bag.
