T47 bottom bracket - cannot work out which tool

My wife's Sonder Camino Ti (V3) has a T47 bottom bracket (new to me standard). I cannot workout which tool I need to remove it, its an external/outboard 68mm shell - 24mm Shimano axle, so I know what I need to buy to replace it.

I e-mailed Alpkit and they confirmed they installed a no-brand/generic BB and cannot confirm which tool will have been used for install.

All the tools that appear on a google search show splined external socket type tools such as ParkTool

My concern is that as per below photo (hoping it works - I know she needs to wash it...) the notches on the BB cups are barely proud of the frame shell, so i'm concerned any of the socket type tools won't have enough 'purchase' to unthread it and will just strip the splines.

In my eyes it looks like i'm looking for a tool with splines that sit proud of the tool face that can engage in the notches while they are recessed into the shell? But I can't find anything that looks like that.

Other possible replacements (such as Superstar) have much more pronounced splines as per a standard Shimano HTII external BB, so no concerns there.

Any support would be appreciated.

Ugh, I have deleted the second post several times. Love the community, but the damage done to this forum!

Thanks Bruce, that's the one I linked to in my post. I guess I'll have to try but with only 1-2mm of the notch proud of the shell I don't think it will have enough purchase for the tool.

I've got 4xT47 bottom bracket tools.

It's ridiculous.

I also have the park tools version. What brand BB have you got?

As I say in OP it's a generic/unbranded one.

I think I'm going to have to admit defeat and LBS it (well not the local LBS as they're awful)

Given you're going to replace it I'd just try getting molgrips on that smooth bit sticking out beyond the ridiculous splined sliver.

Didn't think of that, good idea. Hopefully it was well greased.

My molgrips not big enough.. I've booked it in with an LBS.

What kind of 'standard' has multiple different tools FFS.

Very glad my newer version has standard Shimano external BB

In that case I'd hacksaw/dremel opposing slots down into that smooth bearing housing and twist it out that way - anything to get such a piss poor design off my bike!

They are generally identified by the outer diameter and the number of notches.  If you search those two numbers, you might have better luck.  A spanner type tool might give you better engagement and they are often cheaper.

I find it ridiculous that the company who ordered the frame and the bottom bracket and then bought the tool to screw the two parts together can't tell you what tool is needed.  Had the same issue when I needed some Alpha hub spacers.

I have an aversion to buying a tool I might only use once. In this case, I'd buy the replacement BB first, plus whatever tool I needed for it. If that new tool happens to fit the old BB, happy days, otherwise break out the saws and hammer!

but with only 1-2mm of the notch proud

You may also need this:

Add another £50 or £60 to the tool budget

I've ordered a Token BB, which the LBS will fit. When that comes to need replacing I can then buy the tool (which they helpfully confirm on their website).

I also have an aversion to buying tools I will only need once, and also an aversion to using the LBS for seemingly simple jobs, but here we are.. thanks all for the help

Stillson worked for me. Then replaced with a proper BB.

Got this sorted this evening, thanks to David at the Leedsbikecollege #smilingchainlink

None of his 9!?! different T47 tools fitted it. So as suggested above, some persuasion was required. He angle grinded some flats into it so he could wrench it out. Luckily sonder has well greased it at least.

Replaced with a Token BB that takes a standard tool so I can replace in the future.
