Hi all,

Been toying with the idea of buying some second hand 120mm forks off ebay to slacken my Anthem out a bit and raise the BB.

However......

Just realised the overdrive 2 steerer (1.25" not standard 1.125") means I'll also need a new headset and stem. Also if successful I would sell on my 100mm Fox forks, but again would the second hand value be hit due to the non standard steerer width.

Anyone managed to sell on F29 100mm Fox forks with the Overdrive steerer? If so, what did you get for them?

I'm not sure about the new headset standard or resale but I do know that my anthem 26 was fantastic with 120's especially going down. It did lose a bit on steep scrabbley climbs but worth it.

Yah same with my anthem 26 (2012) too, just swapped the 120mm fork no fuss.

I found my 26 Anthem awful with longer forks uphill and on steep stuff.
The overdrive issue sounds a ballache. You may get lucky and sell them to another Anthem or Giant hardtail owner but that is all you market will be.
I'd get a Trance

My mate did it to his and I'm contemplating doing it to mine.

AFAIK you just get a normal tapered headset for the frame as the cups in the headtube are 'normal' and accept any suitable headset for inch & eighth to inch & half forks

You'd need a new stem too.

Just thinking if I sold my 100mm 1.25" steerer overdrive forks along with my Giant headset (and stem) then I guess who ever bought them could use them on any bike?
