Taking a few novice friends out on Saturday. Don't want to rent the bikes from the shop at the lookout partly because they don't seem great, and partly because they only open at 10. Can anyone recommend an LBS where we could hire a couple of bikes for a couple of hours please?

Thanks.

Thought Wellington Trek (who have the hire facility at Swinley) had a shop in Ascot?

Don't know of any lbs that does a hire service though.

They don't provide a rental service as such, but Mountain Trax have a pretty large demo fleet. I don't know the details but normally they charge something like £50 and let you take out 4 (or so) bikes over a couple of weeks. If you call them and ask they might be able to do something for you, they're a very helpful bunch.

It's about a 20min drive from Mountain Trax to the Look Out.

If Wellington are the ones with the bike hire/repair place next to the Visitor's Centre then I'll pass. Bikes we've hired from there in the past have been pretty hit and miss.

Seems to be a bit of a pee-take to take a demo bike out with no intention of buying it 🙁
