10 mins down a fast-flowing road. You should be able to get a train to Reading from Portsmouth and then change for London Waterloo via Feltham. Or if you get a train to Surbiton I can fetch you from the station no problem.

If I'm coming I could cart a bike or two up from Surbiton (I live across the river from HC).

XC_PK, might be able to give you a lift, it all depends on whether I need to collect someone from Basingstoke. I'll be coming from Andover so it's only just up the road for me. I'll keep you informed. Where in Newbury?

LoulaBella - can you please remove the details of this from your Facebook page. It is an event for the Singletrackworld community, many of whom I have had the privilege of meeting and riding with over the years.

Whilst I do not have any objection to people inviting others, I don't want it advertised to all and sundry and particularly not as a singletons cattle market.

Thank you.

is it one group or more??

I think CG is planning on getting people who can guide different groups pencilled in and then work out what actually happens depending on numbers on the day. I'd be showing people the best singletrack and jumpy stuff if enough fancy that rather than a longer xc ride.

Unfortunately due to the nature of the trails at swinley large groups don't really work if you want to have a good ride.

The morning ride would be few hours and meet up for lunch. I'm happy to show people more stuff after lunch.

Elaine - Did you get my email?

C'mon, just turn up, no attitude but plenty of humour instead, have fun.
Last time CG organised Swinley it was great. Broken frames, snapped chains, frozen Camelbacks, lovely!

Will pen this one into my Diary...

Been a bit absent from here over the last couple of months (mainly due to work), and most weekends have been taken up with cricket over the summer! Which has now ended so will be doing more bike riding again...

All I need is a lift share (nudge nudge wink wink...) 😉

All going well, I will be there. I can also offer a lift to anybody coming down from Herts/North London.

solamanda - not received your e-mail. Did you use the one in my profile or my old one? You pretty much summed it up 8)

jedi - thank you! It will be a pleasure to meet you 😀

Hairychested - you're scaring people!

Everyone - there's going to be a fantastic turnout 8) For those who haven't been to Swinley before, you're in for a real treat!

Gephaudio - anything goes! At the Purbecks ride on Sunday there was a retro bike from the early 90's with some really cool paint work 8)

I wanted that Klein really badly. I have accepted that I'm just not good enough to ride it though 🙁

Rich - loved that paint work! Couldn't believe it was the original. But cantilevers/V brakes whatever they were? No, couldn't live without discs!! Or suspension forks!!

I had a close encounter with a Weimaraner on that ride - it decided to go through the gate near Old Harry Rocks at the very last minute 😯 It was very nearly an OTB experience and definitely would have been with any other brakes!!

Christ you're going to be busy Jedi 🙂

It's odd CG, but I've found discs to have caused quite a few OTB moments for me due to panic braking. Cantis would probably be an improvement!

C_G and Rich - that klein was upside down with a flat tyre last time i saw it tonight. 30 out tonight for a dark ride, did 16 odd miles around the forest, golf course area and all the way along the ridge.

Should be able to make this ride, house move depending.

Rich - I rely on my disc brakes to get me out of trouble!

rusty - oh, not good. 30 riders, can't believe the turnout you get there on rides. Fingers crossed with the house move date. You'll have a bit of time to settle in before the nursery needs painting!

Ah, I can't make this actually, as I shall be in Murcia seeing the father-in-law (and then going biking for a couple of days to cleanse myself). But enjoy, and let us know how it goes.

Sadly I don't think I will be able to make this ride either - but well done for organising another one.

I think I will trundle around there tomorrow as compensation. 🙂 Anyone else planning to be riding in Swinley tomorrow (probably 11 - whenever)?
