I have a Giant Trance x3 2010 with Fox 32 F120R Forks which i love, but i want a little more travel.
Can i simply swap for a Float RL 140mm? Or something with a little more travel maybe? Will it fit out of the box so to speak, or is there something i will need to change or alter to accommodate the new forks, or the extra travel. Ive changed a few things myself before but im a little wary of buying and swapping forks. Expensive mistake if i get it wrong! However, i think its about time i learned 😐 Can anyone share a little advice please with a fork swapping beginner?
Mike, your trance will take 140's no problem. Give mojo a ring as you may be able to swap out the air cart for 140mm travel and the top cap to rlc. I have done the rlc conversion on my 08 32's and I'm glad I did, cost 45 for the top cap assembly.
Will be fine, the Trance is warranted for 140s and rides much better for them.
I fitted a pair of 140 FIT RLCs a couple of weeks ago to a mates 2009 X3, you may have to remove the large cone stem spacer in order to keep the bars low but it ain't a problem.

Nice one dirtydog & konastoner. Im going to give Mojo a buzz tomorrow and see what they can do. If they cant convert mine then i will invest in a second hand pair.
Another question....Tapered steerer???? I guess this is exactly what it sounds like, but do you need to/can you modify to use? Or do you just buy what is supposed to fit?
