[#6894199]

Quick couple of questions for the STW massive.
I'm rebuilding my old 2005 Spesh Enduro for a week in Morzine & maybe a week in Italy.I've been out to Morzine with it a couple of times in the past but it's been gathering dust for 5 or 6 years as I prefer my 100mm travel XC bike for most stuff over here.I'm wondering whether to get the shock (FOX DHX5) serviced or upgrade to something more modern? It was great for me both previous times at Morzine so I'm not looking for something more DH orientated, just wondering how much better a current shock is & if it's worth the money to upgrade versus getting the old DHX5 serviced?
Also I'm competent with spanners, did nut & bolt restos on motorcycles so how easy would it be for me to service the Fox 36 forks?
Thoughts please..

Can't comment on your shock, but forks are a piece of piss...have a go...

Lower service on the forks will be easy, depending on the internals on the fork any further service may be trickier.
Shock service is £95 from TF (others may vary)

Thanks for that,I'll send the DHX in for a service & do the forks myself.
Do I need any special tools for servicing the Fox 36's?

Wouldn't think so. Lots of Fox service guides on their site, and I think they'll go back far enough for you

The dhx5 is a superb shock, no need to get something newer.

32mm socket. Usual small spanners, allen keys and a clean way of working, isoprop alcohol and the right oils and a small measuring cup.
