So how bad is it at the moment?
Filthy yesterday afternoon.
People stared at me in disbelief as I cycled home due to the fact that I was completely covered in mud. One chap on a road bike asked me "where the hell have you been?"

Strangely not very deep yesterday but highly liquid on top and super slippy. It's been raining on and off all day today too.

Muddier than a muddy thing on a really muddy day.
Was there yesterday, one poor chap broke his collarbone on Barry Knows Best - luckily he was staying in a hotel in Peaslake so it wasn't too bad getting him back there.
Slippery as hell all over though, couple of places I was up to my axles in mud! BKB is ok on the lower stretches though, once you get onto the hard packed stuff.
I was up there Saturday and thought it was pretty crap to be honest - wetter than last week, and just a bit too wet to be much fun. The trails are taking an absolute pounding too, I'm inclined to stay away until it dries a bit.
No real problems on Sunday morning, but after the rain we got on the drive home...
I was so covered in mud after a trip round the downs that when I was fixing a puncture on the way home by the side of the road a police car pulled over to check I was ok, on account of my appearance!
Was very boggy in parts on Saturday, hate to think what some of it is like with the extra rain that fell Sunday.
