get to ride surrey hill on occasion if im away with work.

kind of got winterfold/hurtwood/pitch & holmbury licked.

only done Leith the once, really enjoy Superflow and its neighbours

but thinking of trying Redlands tonight.

is it fairly self explanatory? just head in there and dive down any trail?

Have a look on Google maps. There is a reservoir at the Dorking end of Redlands , locate that and there are a few trails that run down from there. Basically though if you stay high on the fireroadsthen you'll see the trails running down, most are reasonably obvious. Enjoy, it's quite different to the rest of the Surrey hills

You're apparently not meant to let on there is more than Leith, holmbury and pitch over Surrey hills, the trail Nazis will get you.

i never did make it to Redlands 2 years ago but then stopped coming to Surrey for while... Im back now tho and finally explored the area last night. based in Leatherhead i have mostly been riding Peaslake again after quickly getting bored of Box Hill.
Bloody brilliant. i like the flow lines on Pitch and Winterfold but great to find some steep tech down south finally (tbf there is some at Hindhead but its in abundance here) and it does have its shere of flow trails too. shat myself on that near vertical shoot onto the fire road at the bottom of 'Going Japanese* (*i think?) plus Holmwood is half the journey time for me. cant wait to explore more.

This ๐Ÿ˜‰

Lovely place, though hordes over there now, and too many people with a spade and Instagram account. Every now and again the landowner gets pissed off. It's FC managed but the actual landowner is threatening to withdraw it from the FC and block everything off, wreck the trails etc.

It's not about don't ride, keeping trails to "ourselves". It's just understanding that publishing sensitive riding spots where there are already landowner issues on very public forums, doesn't make the situation any better.
