Love these pedals. Pins however appear to be made of cheese. These have done a thousand kilometres since bought new in April. Half were sheared off flat, the other lopped off at about half height.
Didn't really notice, still about half the pins remaining and five-tens are so grippy. Even so, bit rubbish. My cheaper Nano's still have a full compliment and have taken way more abuse.
The remaining pins were pretty loose, so I've loctite-d them in now.If you own a set of these, might be worth checking!
Let's hope SS have spares unless I can get them from anywhere else, not sure if it's a standard bolt.
I'm sure they will be a standard size mate just take one to B&Q and compare, I go through trainers faster than pins 😀
Same happened with mine, but superstar do sell spares, although for some reason they are about 1mm shorter than the one that come with the pedal when new.
I've sent Superstar an email. Good call on B&Q as well. I'll pop in tomorrow. Odd the replacements are shorter. These felt perfect - well until they were hacked down in their prime!
My advice would be measure the pins and try and get some stainless ones from eBay; they're much tougher and look a bit more bling (that's if pedal pins can ever look bling).
My guess would be that they're M3x10 or M3x12 Cap screws.
Definitely use Loctite to keep them in place.
Thanks. I'll give that a whirl as well.
They are M2.5x10 actually for anyone else who wants to replace them. eBay stainless set of 50 for £2.50
