I'll be getting a SR 12 Speed cassette, probably the MZ800, one of the black ones. These seem to be the most affordable way to get 12s on a HG hub.
Does anyone have a preferred chain for these?
I've been running a SR 11-46 and SR MX Mech 10s with a Sram chain and it seems fine.
I've got one of the XD drive 12speed sunrace cassettes and run it with a SRAM gx chain currently. No problems.

Jnr258 runs that cassette on an HG freehub, with a SRAM GX chain. Absolutely spot-on - drives and shifts really smoothly. No problems at all 👍🏻

SRAM PG 1230 cheaper and lighter?
Indeed they are... but I've heard complaints about them being somewhat flimsy and wear quickly with rapidly degrading shifting. Maybe it's just people not liking that they got what they paid for?

Any apart from KMC. Shat. Noisy and crud shifting across shimano, Sunrace and SRAM setup’s I have.
Avoid KMC then. I think I've used them in the past and don't use them anymore... maybe I learned something from them.
