I've got the day off tomorrow and thinking about giving the Summit Trail at Bwlych Nant yr Arian a go. I tried the Syfydrin Trail last year but there were loads of areas where the trails were flooded. Does anyone know what the trail conditions are like on the Summit Tail and whether it's prone to flooding as well? Just wondering whether to skip Summit and do another route.
The summit trail is basically the singletrack sections of the Syfidrin. Much of it has been closed for ages so you might have missed those bits last year. Not sure if it is fully open yet, went past a few weeks ago the diversion sign had gone but I didn't ride it. No issues with flooding, that only really happens on the remote bits of Syfidrin.
I think there were closures when I went so that probably gave me a false impression of the trail. Good to hear that it doesn't flood as my main memory of Syfirdin other than the landscape was trying to stay dray! I'm looking forward to giving the Mark of Zorro a try, I've only had an MTB since last autumn and this will be the first time I'll be there when it's open ๐
I rode it last weekend and it was all open. Little bit wet in places where you head out on the rocky moorland/double track from the lake but otherwise absolutely fine.
