After 26 years near Rombalds Moor, we’re moving to SW Cornwall near Rosudgeon/ Goldsithney. I’m not expecting West Yorks hills and singletrack but would love to hear from folks who know the area.
Look up Penwith MTB on FB when you move down. Group ride every Sunday in the general area.
From Goldsithney you can head towards Tregonning Hill and south coast area around Porthleven and Praa Sands, or head west to Penwith moors. You can head up the river side toward St Erth and take some bridleways and back lanes towards Gwithian and Tehidy Woods and back.
Cheers for that. I’ve joined the FB group.
I can see some of those routes on the map, but not sure if they’re footpaths. What’s the general attitude to off-road biking around there?
Rarely an issue riding on most footpaths, as long as you stick to rule no. 1. Coastal paths are obviously busier on sunny weekends so best to ride earlier or later in the day.
Ha! Yes, always keep to rule 1.
I’ve been a Cycling UK off-road volunteer and Local Access Forum member so have seen some of the issues.
