I dont really have the necessary cycling attire to deal with this weather, I currently only have Endura humvee's..could do with something a little more airy for my testicles. suggestions gratefully received.

Morvelo rads have been OK for me in the high 30s and sub zero range, might deal with temps differently though... Secret really is getting out and letting the cool air flow as soon after the ride as possible

Gore Alp-X 2-in-1 is half baggy / half lycra bib short and very comfortable - the only MTB shorts I'd contemplate wearing in this weather - expensive but mine are well into their 3rd summer

Those Gore ones are great, though they do look a bit odd with kneee pads !

I just got a pair of the DHB Baggy Shorts. They are really nice and simple as well as being well fitting and good value for money. We were riding all last week up in Scotland at the 7Stanes in 28 - 30 degree temps and they were not heavy or sweaty at all. I'd recommend on my experience so far. Sizing was spot on for me, though can see why a few reviews suggest to size up. Inmy opinion they are just not really baggy shorts.

Also depends what undershorts you wear as to how cool you remain down below

Cut off jeans and either a wife beater if avoiding direct sun in middle of the day or short sleeve collar shirt for direct light. Really this weather is one of the easiest to deal with as nearly anything will do.

After all the furore about the discontinuation of Singletrack 2 shorts I bought a pair of Singletrack 3s for £35 and they're perfect.  For bithridibot and off the bike.

7Mesh Glidepaths all-day long. Light, airy but still insanely tough, I practically live in mine as they look great for casual use as well. The little details are excellent as well; the pockets are well organised and can hold a phone so well you won't even know it's there and they're just long enough without being too long. Also have a light DWR coating so they repel light water splashes well too. Durability is next level, I've had mine for 18 months and by the time I usually get to this point with a pair of shorts they're looking very much worse for wear, the Glidepaths look like new. Not cheap, but worth their weight in gold this time of year and they'll cope with real 3-season use too. My 7Mesh Recon's or Revo's come out in winter and wetter autumn rides, but otherwise I'll be in the Glidepaths. Can't recommend enough!

The new Nukeproof ones are really nice, especially if you like your shorts with a longer inseam. Size up a bit big though,  have to wear a belt with size large whereas an L in most other brands is spot on

Race Face Indy. Really nice fit, lightweight, big mesh panels, and really tough. Have crashed a lot in mine and they're still bob on 🙂

Luckily I’ve been inventing again.

Got some mesh material off eBay for a couple of quid and set to on the warmest shorts I have.

Now they are really cool.

Why manufacturers think a little mesh on the side will be any use I don’t know.

Yeti Freeland are nice from silverfish - they have a 50% code that brings them down to £40
