I have no pictures to prove it, but London Road in Sheffield always smells magnificent on the summer commutes when all the takeaways have their doors and windows open.

Not sure anyone said it did.

Kudos to your commute scenery. Really must work out a more scenic route to work.

Just my own reinforcement after someone I know said 'it must be horrible having to get up and ride into work every morning'

I thought her head might actually explode when I told her I have a car but choose not to use it.

'it must be horrible having to get up and ride into work every morning'

๐Ÿ˜†

I have to drive fairly often, and it's horrible having to get up on a lovely sunny morning and knowing I have to drive into work when I could have been on my bike.

My wife has moved to part time hours just in time for the summer meaning I can now ride to work at least 2 days a week. Pic from Tuesday's commute:

Picked peas from a field on my way in this morning and just added them to my Pot Noodle to try and give it an air of respectability!

Nice one SJ, that what we want, more commuting vistas like that, although the stoney phallus is a little offputting ๐Ÿ˜•

:-)It's a cross supposedly but there is a line of thought locally that it might be some heathen fertility thing which was edited with a chisel at some point in the distant past by some johnny come lately Christian types.

Mmmm.. slightly less idyllic this morning...

Muggy summer weather + hangover + 11 mile commute = major beer sweats.

Bleurgh

pah! its not possible to get down my fave bits of singletrack on my commute due to the vastly overgrown undergrowth.

much better in winter when i can ride everything.

yes its sunny but i`ve got to go the boring way to work.

Recently bought a road bike and found a lovely commute to Burgess Hill from Worthing via Fulking, barely any traffic either, 20 miles each way. Unfortunately that project has just ended and my new site is in West Hoathly which is about 35 miles away so a good bit further. Plotting a route via country lanes at the moment, doubt I'll do it more than once a week though, might never do it again after the first one, will have to see! Will try and get some photos and post up though.

D0NK that does look rather pleasant! How often, how far?

Nice, thanks for sharing Graham, looks like a lovely commute

Yeah it has it's moments. ๐Ÿ˜€
I like the idea of a commute by the sea though - that'd be good.
Bet it's murder when there is a winter storm blowing in though?

Is it a right of way? If so get the council onto it.

that was an extra special up at 4am, 40mile, quite sore legs, extended commute inspired by DrP's thread

Normal one isnt bad either

I can be, I don't always go that way, if it's proper windy there's one mile long section where you basically get sandblasted and the dunes end up all over the path and roads ๐Ÿ˜€

Annoyingly I only actually live 2.5 miles from work so I have to be creative with my routes to turn into a decent 10-20 mile spin
