The confusion is sorted, phew as I didn't fancy fighting DeeJay at Sumo 😳
nbt will lead and hopefully stop at a couple of watering holes along the route. 😀
Meeting point: Marple Lakes, Near Stockport. (Linky later)
Start time : 9.30 a.m.
Terrain: Rocky trails, hilly, a few road bits, you know the usual.
About 4 to 7 hours depending on numbers and mechanicals.
All welcome.
Come on Marsdenman, you know you want to. 😉
I'm in, obviously. Bribes accepted for route choice - no stops, cafés, pubs etc 😉
Are you sure about that date ❓
DATE needs editing Nov surely!
WIll try but may struggle with a day pass two weeks running.
I'm thinking this will be a small scale event
a kind of test run for something larger scale next year
Doh! I'm really dopey today 😳

he would be a definite FAIL at Sumo as far too skinny, and his beard would allow you to get a grip and pull his head off 🙁
allow you to get a grip and pull his head off
what kind of ride is this? 😆
Meeting point will be Roman Lakes in Marple

The best way is to come down Lakes Road from the middle of Marple.
Google maps seems to be fixated on sending people down Linnet Clough. Technically it's a road and your Sat Nav may direct you that way too, but it's not really too suitable for your average car. You'll find this out as it'll probably be the first climb 😀

oooh - hark at you 😉 😉
Just e-mailed HP as we had (very) tentative plans to do a local [s]pub crawl[/s], sorry, preparatory ride for a bigger STW ride... will confirm once I hear back - but, I am free on the 8th!!!
can you get mods to pull old post ❓
save any more confusion

Sumo, no. Ninja - certainly - sneaks up on you quietly then kicks your butt with an 'oh, had a great idea for a nice little diversion to finish our ride' - which takes you up the shortest, steepest climb he can find...... 😉
Put me down for a defiantly maybe.
can't see why not g

Original Marple thread now locked
As I've just discovered.
Had mentioned the Dark and White Trailquest as they run over quite a small area - 1:50,000 extract on A4 - approx 14km by 8km. Last year it covered bridleways east of Hayfield except Middle Moor. West it was Chinley Churn, Lantern Pike, Mellor Moor / Hague bar. Think there was about 100-130 people last year.
Blimey, it's possible you may get the pleasure of my company. Haven't seen you guys - NBT / Bunnyhop - for yonks 🙂

intentional or typo ??
What's the route?

My dyslexia trips me up once more lol.
ginsterdrz - MemberWhat's the route?
Dunno, I'll think about it closer to the time, when I've got a better idea of numbers and weather. It will certainly involve the Last Drop to Rowarth and the descent from the Fox to Strines station, though
I'll be there.
I may consider gracing the ride with my presence
I may have to ditch the party. 😈
Kramer - This is a party. Just not the type you're used to. 😯
Evenin all!
So, the man from Marsden - he say Yes!
(Any rumours that I'm only doing this 'cos Hora has said yes will be treated as slanderous 😀 )
Think HP is up for it as well.
Currently up for this one myself, deffinately a new area for me.
as i said to jules earlier today, i reckon i'll be up for this too.
The Lady in the cafe does bacon butties, toasties and some healthy snacks too, if people want to come a bit earlier and have a bit of breakfast alfresco.

That's it, you got me, hook, line and sinker!..... 😀
For anyone considering travelling from further afield, there may be room a local B&B run by an MTB instructor. More to follow...
Looking good for me so far... although stretching the Brownie points to the very limit.
thats why brownie points are made of elastic!! so you acn always stretch them a bit further g
think I can also make this as well.. I earn brownie points as wife is in Budapest for a week "working".
One 15 minute presentation at the conference all expenses paid + allowances for time away.
As I have kids for that week (between STW rides)this gets me out the weekend before and after.

And both Pot Noodle and King Pot Noodle.
King pot noodle - that's a new one on me.
May I suggest anyone who is unsure of the area brings an o.s map in case their time runs out. There are a few opt out sections.
Lowey - you bring one anyway in case you get Lost 😉
Bump for the evening crowd 🙂
I may well pop accross for a pootle. Could even combine it with a few drinks on the Saturday night
Brabyns' park bonfire the preceding evening. Beer & fireworks, winner!
