[#926438]

The confusion is sorted, phew as I didn't fancy fighting DeeJay at Sumo 😳
nbt will lead and hopefully stop at a couple of watering holes along the route. 😀

Meeting point: Marple Lakes, Near Stockport. (Linky later)
Start time : 9.30 a.m.
Terrain: Rocky trails, hilly, a few road bits, you know the usual.

About 4 to 7 hours depending on numbers and mechanicals.
All welcome.

a kind of test run for something larger scale next year

he would be a definite FAIL at Sumo as far too skinny, and his beard would allow you to get a grip and pull his head off 🙁

Meeting point will be Roman Lakes in Marple
http://www.romanlakes.co.uk/
Nearest Post Code SK6 7HB

http://www.streetmap.co.uk/map.srf?X=396955&Y=387855&A=Y&Z=120

The best way is to come down Lakes Road from the middle of Marple.

http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?f=d&source=s_d&saddr=53.396381,-2.075644&daddr=Lakes+Rd+to:Unknown+road&hl=en&geocode=%3BFdC0LgMd86vg_w%3BFVGhLgMdtr3g_w&mra=dme&mrcr=0&mrsp=0&sz=15&via=1&sll=53.395792,-2.065129&sspn=0.017401,0.038581&ie=UTF8&ll=53.395281,-2.059636&spn=0.017401,0.038581&t=h&z=15

Google maps seems to be fixated on sending people down Linnet Clough. Technically it's a road and your Sat Nav may direct you that way too, but it's not really too suitable for your average car. You'll find this out as it'll probably be the first climb 😀

Sumo, no. Ninja - certainly - sneaks up on you quietly then kicks your butt with an 'oh, had a great idea for a nice little diversion to finish our ride' - which takes you up the shortest, steepest climb he can find...... 😉

As I've just discovered.

Had mentioned the Dark and White Trailquest as they run over quite a small area - 1:50,000 extract on A4 - approx 14km by 8km. Last year it covered bridleways east of Hayfield except Middle Moor. West it was Chinley Churn, Lantern Pike, Mellor Moor / Hague bar. Think there was about 100-130 people last year.

What's the route?

Dunno, I'll think about it closer to the time, when I've got a better idea of numbers and weather. It will certainly involve the Last Drop to Rowarth and the descent from the Fox to Strines station, though

Evenin all!
So, the man from Marsden - he say Yes!

(Any rumours that I'm only doing this 'cos Hora has said yes will be treated as slanderous 😀 )

Think HP is up for it as well.

The Lady in the cafe does bacon butties, toasties and some healthy snacks too, if people want to come a bit earlier and have a bit of breakfast alfresco.

think I can also make this as well.. I earn brownie points as wife is in Budapest for a week "working".
One 15 minute presentation at the conference all expenses paid + allowances for time away.
As I have kids for that week (between STW rides)this gets me out the weekend before and after.

King pot noodle - that's a new one on me.

May I suggest anyone who is unsure of the area brings an o.s map in case their time runs out. There are a few opt out sections.

Lowey - you bring one anyway in case you get Lost 😉
