But that unfortunately misses out Pin and Cavedale as a descent

It does Cavedale as a descent (having gone up Pindale) and gives you either Chapel Gate or one of the 3 descents from Mam Tor ridge instead.

Not really fussed to be honest, just don't really like the drag along the road back to the cars.

Could stick another little blast up to Hollins Cross in there, then down from Mam Nick if people have the energy

I'm going to have to say no to this now

Theres some interesting route variations/ideas. Not sure chapel gate makes the best uphill. I tried it once, never again ..

Pook that route looks good, lets do that. I think as you did the first post you should set the route as the combined might of stw peaks troop will never be able to decide on which route offers the best biking per buck.

only question now is which tyres....

oh and can we confirm the start point and time please

mike

Nice route - very similar to one I had been planning for me and J to ride anyway. We might have to take some minor detours (if we make it there for 9.15 (eeek), that is) but we'll see...

So as not to clog the layby too much anyone in the hillsborough / walkley area is more than welcome to a lift if they want one, or if you can fit more than 2 bikes / people in your car, any one want to offer a lift?

Can I come and join the fun? I need a good excuse to get out of the house as the gf has some friends coming up. Been away from the forum for a while so be good to "get involved" again.

Coming from Sheffield, either by car (if I can steal it) or by train. If it's the latter I might wait in Edale for you all to come through, given that it's on the latest route posted.

Cheers,
jon

As there are now so many of us, the Edale car park might be a better option for a starting point. I'm going to go there for 9.15am. It's about 5 or 6 quid for the day, and the route goes past it anyway.
For those who get there earlier, Barber Booth is just up the road and you'll nab the free places.
As long as we're all set to go at about 9.30am from Edale car park we're on to a winner I think.

Hope that's ok.

+1 for me and J.
See you at the car park in Edale.
(if we are not there by 9.30 don't wait for us though - it will mean we are too, erm, 'ill' to ride...)

I am keen, pending work commitments/weather shyness...

It would be great to put some faces to the names on here.

See ya there!

I forgot to say, is anyone going up there tonight? I will be, and would rather have a drink with some fellow bikers, than be bored on my own in the van... ( No one i know can make it). Also, if anyone is coming from herts, beds etc and needs a lift, i could manage that...

I'm probably riding with mates instead tomorrow, something a bit longer and starting earlier, so if I'm there I'm there and if I'm not, then I'm not. Will say hello if spot you on the trail - I'm guessing it's going to be quite a big group... ๐Ÿ™‚

Grim outside in the Peak right now btw, hope it improves overnight...
