[#1047352]

Hi all,

So it looks like a few of us are intending on getting out on the 28th.

Who's coming? Anyone got any particular routes they fancy?

pook (chris)

Hi Chris

A Saturday! I may be able to get an all day pass. Usually make an early start esp. now it is twilight at midday ๐Ÿ˜‰

A route with a low peat bog/mud percentage?

Thx.
Paul

10.30am - Edale car park for the start. That'll give us a choice of Mam Tor/Hayfield stuff, or over and around Castleton to avoid some of the mud, with an option to extend down to ladybower and do the beast before looping back to Edale and a pint

EDIT: or will's route! I don't mind.

everyone's more than welcome ton!

I think it'll be around the 20 mile mark. No cheekiness unfortunately as the red sox will be out en masse

This was what I was thinking. Although could do with a little less road?

will try to be there ๐Ÿ™‚

here is my 2 pence worth... A Hayfield loop would cut the roadwork out and we could still do rushup and chapel gate.

www.bikehike.co.uk/mapview.php?id=26246

if you wanted a longer route you could extend a loop out over chinley churn too

Do you mind if i tag along. I need to get out much more this winter.

By the way both those routes start at Barber Booth and you might have trouble getting parking spaces at 10.30 on a Saturday, especially if the weather half decent.

Is it a sociable ride?pace with lots of stops for banter, looking at the view, snack stops etc. ?
Or a mad blasting around?

I know all the routes around there and I'd be worried about holding people up on the steep climbs and technical descents.

time wise. 9.15 ish would be my suggestion, due to the large volume. A route, well, i don't mind, but think we should take in some of the classics.

Yes! I like to save my racing for coming last in proper races.

Dirtlow Rake - Pindale, or miss Dirtlow rake, do cavedale, then go back up the road to Pindale?

well dirtlow rake/cave and pindale is only a section of any length we decide.

If we do

Barber booth
Chapel gate
mam tor
limestone way
cavedale
pindale
aston
roman road
hope cross
jaggers clough
edale
barber booth

it'll be about 17 miles with steady climbing (except chapel gate). i don't know fallguy's route which could easily be better!

good route chris. We should decided if people would rather ride cavedale etc... Or beast lockerbrook etc... Personally because i rode cavedale lat weekend and the weekend before i wouldn't mind the beast, but i'm happy to go with the masses here.

Weather and hangovers permitting me and J might come and say hi at the start but we will then probably go off on our own because we are slow and fat (well, I am) and still prototyping his new arm, so we are under orders to do 'steady' stuff.
Would be nice to say hello though, and put some names to faces...
