Hi all,
So it looks like a few of us are intending on getting out on the 28th.
Who's coming? Anyone got any particular routes they fancy?
pook (chris)
Hi Chris
A Saturday! I may be able to get an all day pass. Usually make an early start esp. now it is twilight at midday ๐
A route with a low peat bog/mud percentage?
Thx.
Paul
i.ll be there! May i recommend chapelgate, mam tor, hollins cross, jaggers, hope cross, lockerbrook, beast, ladybower. I also suggest a 9am meeting time at barber booth layby. I.ll be on my cx bike
10.30am - Edale car park for the start. That'll give us a choice of Mam Tor/Hayfield stuff, or over and around Castleton to avoid some of the mud, with an option to extend down to ladybower and do the beast before looping back to Edale and a pint
EDIT: or will's route! I don't mind.
๐
Sorry lads, cant do Saturdays. Have a good one.
or chris' route, i don't mind ๐
ill try and swap a shift so i can come and play. can the route involve cheek or not? actually scrap that its a weekend, wasnt thinking!
arse, I'm away that weekend... next time... I'll defo be up for it!
sorry can't get - on a training coarse all w/e g
i might fancy this, if you dont mind.
everyone's more than welcome ton!
I think it'll be around the 20 mile mark. No cheekiness unfortunately as the red sox will be out en masse
This was what I was thinking. Although could do with a little less road?

Good to go here. Hoping that big bro will be out too. Thats if he doesn't fall over again walking the dogs!!
will try to be there ๐

here is my 2 pence worth... A Hayfield loop would cut the roadwork out and we could still do rushup and chapel gate.

if you wanted a longer route you could extend a loop out over chinley churn too
I'm up for it
6 people... And counting!
i may be up for tagging along if i can persuade someone else...
I'm up for this. I'll try and rope a few others in too.
I could be on for that, put my name down please!
Do you mind if i tag along. I need to get out much more this winter.
By the way both those routes start at Barber Booth and you might have trouble getting parking spaces at 10.30 on a Saturday, especially if the weather half decent.
Jon
wotcha pook. we were looking at going to cannock that weekend, but i like the sound of this more. will spread the word see if i cant get a few more interested
Is it a sociable ride?pace with lots of stops for banter, looking at the view, snack stops etc. ?
Or a mad blasting around?
I know all the routes around there and I'd be worried about holding people up on the steep climbs and technical descents.
Bunnyhop you can bumble along with me if you want, it will be my first ride in over a month as long as my frame arrives in time
can i join the sag wagon please? swine flu followed by chest infection means im not at my best!
slowrider, you can ride downwind from me
I'd like to come. Rear gunner hear too (we're all gonna be at the back!)
Just been informed I'm on Child duty. ๐
Maybe another time.
Have fun.
Thats a bugger, i'm in Paris with the missus that weekend.
Another time.
Haha - we're all going to be trying to keep up with will on his CX bike
๐

i'm a possibillity for this i'll confirm closer to the day.
kin el! A few then. And i.ll be trying to keep up with you lot, it only a ss cx bike!
looks like aother pines massive collective then buddy
time wise. 9.15 ish would be my suggestion, due to the large volume. A route, well, i don't mind, but think we should take in some of the classics.
yeah i think you're right will.
9.15am, Barber Booth layby then. Route to follow
And Adey - i think you're right!!! For those who don't know what he's on about....

Yes! I like to save my racing for coming last in proper races.
Sounds like a plan!
Any advances on a route? shall we do Cavedale as well?
Dirtlow Rake - Pindale, or miss Dirtlow rake, do cavedale, then go back up the road to Pindale?
Whats teh distance on that Chris?
Might have to bring the proper bike if we are going down Cavedale though, although would be fun to try
well dirtlow rake/cave and pindale is only a section of any length we decide.
If we do
Barber booth
Chapel gate
mam tor
limestone way
cavedale
pindale
aston
roman road
hope cross
jaggers clough
edale
barber booth
it'll be about 17 miles with steady climbing (except chapel gate). i don't know fallguy's route which could easily be better!
๐
Git! ๐ฅ
I may be up for this ride will confirm nearer the time, would be good to meet some new faces and ride some bits I havn't done before.
Rob.
good route chris. We should decided if people would rather ride cavedale etc... Or beast lockerbrook etc... Personally because i rode cavedale lat weekend and the weekend before i wouldn't mind the beast, but i'm happy to go with the masses here.
Weather and hangovers permitting me and J might come and say hi at the start but we will then probably go off on our own because we are slow and fat (well, I am) and still prototyping his new arm, so we are under orders to do 'steady' stuff.
Would be nice to say hello though, and put some names to faces...
the ramblers wont be happy that we are taking over their car parking lol
