Myself and a couple of mendip locals were thinking of organising a Mendip ride.
Anybody welcome of any ability and bike variety.
Pub stop of course.
Numbers of interested parties would be nice.
The date of this occurrence would be Sunday 9th October.
Who fancies some Mendip mud & singletrack?
Yes please! (but you knew that already...)
Am i allowed to come if i promise not to moan this time !(will have to ask permission 1st !)
I'm In (I hope).
Ooh, yes please, if it hasn't been raining for the few days prior!

Ooooh like the sound of mud n feather !!!!!
Am i allowed to come if i promise not to moan this time
As I recall you were missing your cooked breakfast. I felt quite sympathetic!
cheers buzz !
Thanks I've marked it in my calendar. Love to ride somewhere new.
If I must. ๐
hopefully ๐
Where are these Mendips you talk of ?????
Date saved.
No teeth, will you be on the bonty?
OOOhhh. I've never been on a STW ride and the mendips is only down the road. I might tag along if that's ok.
will you be on the bonty?
Yeah - & probably sporting rigid forks, for maximum Mendip mud suffering. ๐
Oh go on then ๐
It's a definite possibility!
I'll be up for tagging along. I know a little around the area but interested in get some local knowedge.
Where is it going to start?
Yes please, count me in.
Oooh, missed this thread yesterday.
Date duly earmarked.
Yep.. i'm game. Is this rowberrow way?
Oooooooh ... ponders whether stamina will have returned by then otherwise who wants a fat old girl keeping everyone waiting. ๐
Maybe depends whether my wheels will hold up as it's quite close to the Q's ๐
you'll be fine. I thought it only affected 29er wheels? Not niche 650b fat ones
Ooh I do like the 'Dips. I'll try and come along! ๐
Provisionally - yes I'm in.
come on CG theres nothing quite like Mendip mud!
I don't think it will be badly muddy by early October, it should still be running quite fast, and the undergrowth will have died back a lot.
It's mid November through Feb, after solid weeks of rain, that it's really affected by mud.
Just ensure you bring some fairly nobbly tyres rather than summer semi-slicks.
I love the climbs in the Mendips. A few trips down there in short succession very quickly gets the fitness up!
What's this about mud? I'll have you know that I don't change tyres til November!
Never been to the Mendips, apart from a school trip to Cheddar Gorge, so besides mud, what else can I expect? ๐
CG - Expect a great ride! ๐

Hi CG. Expect ...
but add a lot of mud!
๐
I'm in.
I'm in. I'll try not to separate my shoulder this time too... ๐ณ
๐I'm in.
The time and meeting point of the gathering will be posted in the next few days, route being worked on presently, and there is a possibility of a little bit of Mendip "sauciness" in the mix also.
Sounds good to me!
Nice pics Buzz, first time i've seen them ๐
Bumpity bump.
So what's the plan Dave? ๐
For all those still interested we are still going out come hell or high water.
Final numbers would be appreciated to set up potential tea stop.
Meet at Swan Inn, Rowberrow, 9:30 for 10:00 set off.
Should be a nice, technical and long ride with indespersed easy bits.
Who's coming then?
Me
Flatfish, bring some business cards I might be able to send you some work
