[#3077558]

Myself and a couple of mendip locals were thinking of organising a Mendip ride.
Anybody welcome of any ability and bike variety.
Pub stop of course.
Numbers of interested parties would be nice.
The date of this occurrence would be Sunday 9th October.
Who fancies some Mendip mud & singletrack?

Yeah - & probably sporting rigid forks, for maximum Mendip mud suffering. ๐Ÿ˜€

you'll be fine. I thought it only affected 29er wheels? Not niche 650b fat ones

I don't think it will be badly muddy by early October, it should still be running quite fast, and the undergrowth will have died back a lot.

It's mid November through Feb, after solid weeks of rain, that it's really affected by mud.

Just ensure you bring some fairly nobbly tyres rather than summer semi-slicks.

I love the climbs in the Mendips. A few trips down there in short succession very quickly gets the fitness up!

What's this about mud? I'll have you know that I don't change tyres til November!

Never been to the Mendips, apart from a school trip to Cheddar Gorge, so besides mud, what else can I expect? ๐Ÿ™‚

The time and meeting point of the gathering will be posted in the next few days, route being worked on presently, and there is a possibility of a little bit of Mendip "sauciness" in the mix also.

For all those still interested we are still going out come hell or high water.
Final numbers would be appreciated to set up potential tea stop.
Meet at Swan Inn, Rowberrow, 9:30 for 10:00 set off.
Should be a nice, technical and long ride with indespersed easy bits.

Who's coming then?
